Changemakers we've partnered with
We’ve worked with public sector organisations, governments, academic institutions, charities and foundations all over the world to explore how public institutions can listen, learn and adapt to make government more effective and trusted to work for everyone.
We are putting our vision for government into practice through projects and partnerships that help us build a movement together.
The Aspen Institute
The Aspen Institute brings together diverse, non-partisan thought leaders, creatives, scholars and members of the public to tackle some of the world’s most complex problems.
We worked with the Aspen Institute’s Center for Urban Innovation and Boston Consulting Group, to develop our report on the Future of U S Cities. It explored how cities can “innovate with intention” to tackle problems and create more legitimate, equitable and inclusive cities for residents.
We’re also currently working with The Aspen Institute on the Fail Forward programme, which explores how local governments can create innovation cultures that embrace experimentation, risk-taking, and "failing forward".
The UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)
BEIS exists to build an economy that works for everyone, so that there are great places in every part of the UK for people to work and for businesses to invest, innovate and grow.
We partnered with BEIS to provide a range of training and resources on policy effectiveness using the Public Impact Fundamentals.
Centre for Public Impact is a partner to Bloomberg Philanthropies to help design and deliver initiatives that equip city leaders with the skills to think big, be bold and uncover inventive – and, ultimately shareable – ideas that tackle today’s toughest problems.
Our work has included the Bloomberg Philanthropies Mayors Challenge, innovation training for cities worldwide, and an initiative to assist 20 European capital cities to accelerate their digital innovation to improve critical services and deliver better results for residents.
The Cabinet Office
The UK Cabinet Office works to support collective government, helping to ensure the effective development, coordination and implementation of policy.
We partnered with the Cabinet Office to provide a range of training and resources on policy effectiveness using the Public Impact Fundamentals, a framework for highlighting the drivers behind successful policy.
Together with Easier Inc, we're building a Community of Practice comprised of national and local regulators and local public sector organisations and charities across the UK. To bring together those on both sides of regulation - those who ensure it is being upheld and those whose work is guided by it - to explore how to work together in a different way.
Engage Britain is a new organisation focused on tackling our country’s most complicated and divisive challenges.
We partnered with Engage Britain to explore the most innovative ways in which people, policy and technology work together. Our mission was to highlight some of the most promising examples of technology that help citizens engage with the big issues impacting the world.
Frontline is a charity with a mission to transform the lives of vulnerable children by recruiting and developing outstanding individuals to be leaders in social work and broader society.
We partnered with Frontline, Buurtzorg Britain & Ireland and Boston Consulting Group, to explore a radical new approach to children’s social care in England that puts relationships between social workers and families at its heart.
Nesta are on a mission to bring bold ideas to life to change the world for the better.
We’ve partnered with Nesta to research why emerging technologies, such as drones, need the public's buy-in to really unlock their full potential as a force for good.
We’ve also helped Nesta explore the future of foundations to understand what the current challenges mean in practice and how foundations are responding to them.
The Royal Foundation
We’ve partnered with The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to design and implement a rigorous nomination and selection process for The Earthshot Prize.
The Earthshot Prize is a new global prize for the environment from His Royal Highness Prince William, The Duke of Cambridge. The Earthshot Prize will be awarding a prestigious prize to 5 winners per year over 10 years. Through this, and the winners’ work, The Earthshot Prize will provide at least 50 solutions to the world’s greatest problems by 2030.
This partnership has included working together with environmental and conservation organisations, communications and prize experts, to develop and iterate the Prize’s design, in line with The Earthshot Prize’s goal to convene, celebrate and inspire for global action to repair our planet.
Responding to Coronavirus
We want to help governments respond and adapt to this crisis in a way that will enable a more equitable, empathetic and effective system.
Whether this is sharing the stories of those working with marginalised groups most impacted by the virus, or calling on communities and organisations to submit innovative approaches to this repository in partnership with the OECD OPSI; it is important to highlight varying experiences of this crisis, so that changemakers understand the value of reimagining government.
We work with public sector organisations, governments, academic institutions, charities and foundations all over the world to explore how public institutions can listen, learn and adapt to make government more effective and trusted to work for everyone.
We work with partners who share our aim to be...
We have the courage to speak the truth, to challenge without fear and tackle the difficult questions.
We respect differences, we seek to understand them and we look out for one another.
We are positive about what we and governments can do for our societies.
We are non-partisan, we work together and seek ideas and solutions across the divides.
The CPI team has an unparalleled ability to translate big ideas into compelling action steps that lead to change. The deeply understand how to serve local governments, and all of their products and workshops are designed to inform and inspire local government innovators. Working with them is intellectually demanding and thoroughly enjoyable.
CPI is an exceptional partner for those seeking to produce thoughtful and rigorous research. Our work on the West Philidelphia Skills Initiative resulted in one of the best institutional case studies I've seen.
Partnering with CPI should be part of every government’s playbook. From the wealth of resources, case studies, and reports to the amazing people behind them, CPI is equipping governments with the tools they need to be successful, to “innovate with intention,” and provide better services for the communities they have committed to serve. You’ll only find yourself wondering why you hadn’t engaged CPI sooner in your journey!
