Over the course of a 16-week design sprint, city government problem solvers, community leaders, and volunteer technologists from Google.org partnered to build tech solutions that leverage open data to address pressing housing challenges in the fallout of COVID-19. The pandemic has exacerbated housing crises in eviction and homelessness in cities across the nation. On June 18th at TOPcities' inaugural Demo Day, cities showcased tech solutions that aim to alleviate housing challenges facing residents in their communities. They shared what they learned in the process of working with their communities to understand, design, and launch a product that meets residents’ needs.
