Willie Mae Knight is a native of Savannah, GA., and a graduate of Armstrong State University, now Georgia Southern – Armstrong Campus with a degree in Marketing/Management. She also received her Masters of Public Administration from Savannah State University in 1989. After twenty years with Philip Morris Tobacco Company, she began a new career with the City of Savannah as a Citizen Liaison in the Citizen’s office. In 2016, Willie Mae left that position to further her service to the residents of Savannah as a Community Outreach Coordinator working closely with neighborhoods and community leaders to improve the conditions where they live.
In 2021, Willie Mae completed the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative Innovation Track where she worked to address Savannah’s issue of food deserts.
