Karen Lawson

Biography

Karen has had a varied career working across public service. She initially trained as a social worker, working in Edinburgh and London, and later became a senior lecturer in social care. She worked for the national agency for college development in Scotland and led creative and innovative approaches to learning and leadership.

Karen became interested in the systemic and relational nature of complex issues. She took up a role as collaborative learning lead at the Scottish Government, working for the Collective Leadership for Scotland Team. She has focused on creating the conditions for relational, systemic work across public service and creative learning festivals to share experiences and explore the unknown.
