Biography

Kaletta Lynch is a native of Decatur, GA. She attended Dillard University in New Orleans, LA.  Shortly after Hurricane Katrina, Kaletta persevered to earn her B.A. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland in College Park.

From 2016 to 2019, Kaletta served in the Salt Lake City Mayor’s Office as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff, Legislative Liaison, and Internships Coordinator. Under Mayor Erin Mendenhall’s leadership, Kaletta returned to the Mayor’s Office in 2020 to serve as the Special Projects Manager for the Racial Equity in Policing Commission, Internships Coordinator, Legislative Liaison, and ACE (Arts, Culture, and Events) Fund Coordinator.  In 2021, Mayor Mendenhall appointed Kaletta as the first Chief Equity Officer of the Mayor’s Office of Equity & Inclusion.  In addition to her public service in Salt Lake City, Kaletta has over 15 years of experience as a former federal background investigator, contracts agent, and intergovernmental liaison.
