The Centre for Public Impact (CPI) is a global non-profit foundation, launched by The Boston Consulting Group, that helps governments and their partners turn ideas into impact.  The CPI team in North America works to advance innovative solutions that lead to better outcomes for citizens. Through our Legitimacy work, we aim to generate resident-driven insight to help governments build and sustain positive, ongoing relationships with the public.

To that end, we are seeking an outstanding leader to help build and drive our Legitimacy practice. The Programme Manager will play a key leadership role in shaping CPI’s agenda during a pivotal transition period for our growing organization.



Programmatic Portfolio Management

  • In consultation with the CPI Director, North America, provide day-to-day oversight of CPI’s Legitimacy practice
  • Within this portfolio, identify opportunities for new programs and manage their execution
  • Directly manage and mentor a team of Program Associates, providing actionable feedback and contributing to their growth and development

Strategy and Operations

  • Work with the CPI Director, North America, to refine the vision and strategy for expanding CPI’s influence and impact in North America
  • Support the development of an operating plan and infrastructure to bring this strategy to fruition

Thought Leadership  

  • Research key trends and innovations in government legitimacy
  • Facilitate workshops with residents to gather data to be translated into insights
  • Drive efforts to ensure CPI North America remains at the cutting-edge and is positioned as the go-to source on information and insight on public impact in the region
  • Use networks and engagement with senior stakeholders to understand emerging trends and future topics relating to public impact and social innovation in North America
  • Form and lead partnerships to co-develop new materials including research papers and articles

Partnerships and Business Development  

  • Support the development of strategic partnerships that enable CPI to achieve its mission
  • Cultivate and maintain a network of senior stakeholders in partner organizations
  • Trial new models for partnerships in response to emerging opportunities and market trends



We are seeking a high-potential, impact-minded leader with:

  • At least 6 years of relevant professional experience, in either a consulting environment or in an impact, policy, or service-oriented environment
  • University degree with demonstrated high academic achievement in a relevant field (e.g., Public policy, economics, government, social entrepreneurship or similar). Higher level degree (MBA / MPP or similar) highly desirable
  • Demonstrable knowledge of and passion for public impact and social innovation, particularly in our core focus areas
  • Excellent managerial and interpersonal skills and a track record of developing people
  • Workshop or similar facilitation experience in a variety of contexts
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and manage senior-level stakeholder relationships
