Vacancy: Associate – City Innovation

Through our City Innovation work, we collaborate with local governments and their partners to create a new paradigm of public sector innovation that taps into the expertise of residents and frontline staff to address pressing societal challenges.

To that end, we are seeking an associate to support our programs across a portfolio of projects within our City Innovation pillar. The Associate will play a key role during a pivotal period for our organization’s growth.

 

Core Responsibilities

Program Delivery 

  • Work collaboratively alongside a team to contribute to one or more project workstreams developing tools and coaching consistent with the goals of the overall project
  • Maintain open and ongoing communication with Senior Associates and Managers on the team in regards to activities, progress, and roadblocks to ensure effective and efficient project delivery
  • Create and maintain project databases, surveys, shared inboxes, and other administrative functions as necessary to ensure excellent customer service for philanthropic partners, key stakeholders, and challenge participants

 

Program  Managemen

  • Draft communications and presentations for senior and executive-level stakeholders
  • Work in collaboration with key stakeholders at delivery partner vendors as needed to support the successful execution of the program
  • Own the creation of work products within a designated workstream. This may include developing PowerPoint decks, Excel spreadsheets, developing databases, or programmatic training materials
  • In partnership with the Program Managers and Senior Associates, contribute to the strategy, design and execution of key project milestones
  • In partnership with the Program Manager, identify, track, and report on overall success metrics for each phase of the project

 

CPI Strategy and Operations

  • Partner with team members to support the development of a strategic operating plan
  • Support partnership development efforts for future programs to drive organizational growth

 

Thought Leadership

  • Develop and publish thought leadership that promotes key insights from our research and programs
  • Support efforts in identifying platforms to help increase the visibility of CPI and share our work with a wider audience

 

Position Requirements, Skills, and Core Competencies

We are seeking a high-potential, impact-minded team member with:

  • At least 1-2 years of relevant professional experience, in either an impact, policy, consulting, or service-oriented environment
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public policy, economics, government, social entrepreneurship, human-centered design or similar) or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge of and passion for public impact
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience interacting effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and manage internal and external relationships
