Grace Diaz began her work with the City in 2015, serving first as the Community Relations Director with a focus on connecting city services to the faith community. Today, Grace is the City of Providence’s MBE/WBE Outreach Director, working to extend more opportunities for minority-owned businesses in Providence. Grace is a dedicated public servant who has served as a State Representative in Rhode Island's District 11 since 2004. Born in the Dominican Republic, Grace came to Providence in 1990, determined to succeed in her new home. In 2004, she became the first Dominican-American woman elected to state office in the United States.
