Born and raised in Boise, Gates Marquez is the Library Assistant Lead at the Hillcrest Branch of the Boise Public Library. They recently graduated from Emporia State University with a Master’s in Library and Information Science and strives to create equitable access to information for their community. While working on the Harvard Bloomberg Innovation Track for the City of Boise, Gates worked on finding affordable housing solutions for our rapidly growing city of Boise. Gates’ interest in public service design, community engagement and co-creation with community members guides them as they lead their teams through strategic projects at the Boise Public Library.
