Ever been worried about the differences between artificial intelligence (AI) and humans when it comes to decision-making? Professor Francesca Rossi, one of the world’s leading research scientists on AI, believes that there’s no need to panic. On the contrary, she says that humans and AI are “very complementary”. And she should know.
Rossi is currently working at IBM, on leave from her role as a professor of computer science at Italy’s University of Padova. Her research has a particular emphasis on preference modeling and reasoning, constraint processing, multi-agent systems, and voting theory. She has published more than 170 papers in international conferences or journals, edited 16 volumes, and is the current president of the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence.
