India’s education system has benefited from increased funding but more needs to be done to strengthen outcomes. This event sought to address the challenges that still exist, and guide the next stage of transformation.

There are few issues more important than transforming a country’s school system for the better. This roundtable discussion was attended by principal secretaries of school education departments, business leaders and global education reformers. We analysed the root causes of low outcomes in school systems in India, including systemic challenges that prevent change-at-scale, such as accountability, talent deficits and the lack of robust data. The event gave participants the opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences and emerge with a common framework to help guide this transformation towards higher learning quality.
