The Centre for Public Impact and Data & Society in New York City brought together practitioners and academics to discuss artificial intelligence (AI) and the future of government.

We believe that AI can be the single biggest technological shift to affect humanity and we are working on a set of principles to enable governments to both exploit the benefits of AI for its citizens and mitigate the risks.

The event featured discussions focused on one of the following questions:

  1. What are the risks for government if it fails to adapt to the world of AI?

  2. How can the policymaking process be improved through the use of AI?

  3. In what way can AI change the quality of existing government outcomes?
